Salut! I’m Juliane (Juju pour les intimes), a small town girl who got bit by the traveling bug at a very young age. I spent most of my childhood summers traveling across Canada with my parents and my three siblings squeezed into a pickup truck. Camping, hiking and road tripping were on the agenda every year. There is no doubt, this is where my long term love relationship with traveling and the outdoors began. ❤️
My parents strongly believed that giving experiences instead of materials is the most enriching gift you can give someone. No, I never got that Nintendo 64 or that Ski-doo I was asking every Christmas, but I had the chance to see my own country from east to west, north to south. And let me tell you, Canada is one of the most beautiful and friendliest countries in the world! Since, I’ve only been wanting to explore the rest of this beautiful, vaste world we live in. 🌎
In 2015, I took a sabbatical leave from my teaching job in Ottawa to travel and volunteer around Africa. My plan was to leave for a few months, enjoy my backpacking adventure and then come back to my life in Ottawa. Well 4 years later, I’m still abroad, I became an international school teacher, I’m traveling as much as I can and I’m happier than ever. Yup, that was a good idea! 😊
Everyday, I’m grateful for the chance that I have to be doing what I am. Life is a journey of self-discovery with lessons to learn, places to explore and experiences to enjoy. This is what I want to share with you and the rest of the world. Welcome to my journey. ✌🏻
Opportunities don’t happen. You create them.
